I find it wonderful when people can laugh at themselves. I find those without a sense of humor rather unfun. Forced jokes are rarely funny and make me feel all sorts of awkward inside.
Sports are a diversion. Too many sports analogies in a workplace could tire fast. Well why stop at sports analogies when it's more acronyms that creep me out. I still don't trust fast office walkers. They have too much to prove.
I'm getting lots of practice with my French these days. It is a very good thing and is sort of like getting paid millions to play baseball professionally. Ha, I made a comparison to sports when it should've been avoided.
There's this new song I can't get out of my head about this guy and his ex-girlfriend. The Airborn Toxic Event song resonates through my head all day long. Beautiful song, not such an ideal topic. The part about his stomach in ropes, that is magnificent song writing. If you don't know the song, I can sing it for you.
Finally, it may not comes as a surprise to any of you, but I whipped out this blog entry in about 8 minutes using my BlackBerry Flip. I'm super cool! Eight.

Sweet 8 minute post. Mine have been very quick lately too. Tis the season for short posts, I suppose.

OMG. You are such a brand whore (someone told you this once and now I can't remember but I remember you telling me about it and with the mention of your BB Flip, I had to say it).
Anyway, acronyms in offices freak me out too. I hates them. Except the ones that I used to use to battle the acronym makers. "STFU, MFers"
Word.

Damn.. I one of those fast office walkers.

Churlita - yeah, I need to keep blogging to maintain a level of sanity. It really helps me unload stuff stuck in my head before hitting the sack. I have to be more dilligent about posting regularly.
SM - I have been called a brand whore. I removed the second instance of T-Mobile though because that's just one of those fancy signature files linked to my BlackBerry account. Abbreviations have a place, but some are just lame like SWAG, Stupid Wild Ass Guess.
Golden - you are? Yes, you are! I rememeber your walk and it was like a blur in my mind.

Yeah..I'm actually having hip issues.. think it's Sciatica, and the pain is crazy bad.. it's slowed me wayy down. Aging is fun.

8 minutes on a blackberry? I can barely knock out accepting a meeting request via my blackberry in 8 minutes- well played. You're like the MVP of my hockey team!

I've never heard that song... I'll have to look it up. I love finding songs where a line or two resonate so well with you that you can't get the whole song out of your head.
I like people who can laugh at themselves because they make me feel normal.. I do it all the time. probably too much... haha

You're a speed freak on a Blackberry but you prefer to stroll...hmmm.
On the other hand older slow walkers will drop off the perch from heart disease so you better get your skates on lol :P

There were 8 comments when I arrived, and for the sake of symmetry I thought about not posting a comment but hey, some one else will just come along and do it, so why not me :p
I like to laugh at people who make bad sports analogies, hope they can laugh at themselves!

I've been thinking about that sports as a diversion thing a lot lately, so I'm kinda glad to see I'm not the only one thinking about it.
It's funny how sports have totally wormed their way into our lives, isn't it?
Also, I think about people who have no room in their lives for sports. Not like busy Americans who "hate sports", but people who are so oppressed that there is no leeway at all for games.
Sad.

Golden - aging is fun for many reasons. I love what happens to the skin as we age. I also love how priorities shift as we get into different stages of life.
Sorry to hear about the hip. It sounds rather sucky.
BigBro - maybe I can get you signed up for my BlackBerry class. Perhaps I could give you a training while you're in town next month. I have some wonderful tips to make anyone into a BlackBerry enthusiast. I still do love my Mac stuff though. Don't fret.
Felisa - I have a really tough time with people who can't laugh at themselves. Nobody is perfect therefore we're all going to do some silly at one point in time. Some more than others. Yah, you should listen to their music. It's good stuff. Their song Wishing Well is featured on a Buick ad, but what I love about this is the song has the word "fuck" in the lyrics a few times.
Jayne - there are only a few devices where I can type quickly. I do a decent job with computers and this is the first cell phone I've used where it was worthwhile to type messages longer than two sentences. The old T9 typing is garbage and typing on a touch screen is maddening.
Logo - the sports analogies are awkward and ultimately it tells me I'm dealing with a sports junkie. I enjoy sports, but they're simply a diversion and not much more. Nothing wrong with the diversion, but I don't let the ruin or enhance my day. I do realize sports are much like the weather, it's a common topic people can chat about across the land.
Lora - what's your take on sports as a diversion? I'm not going to say I don't enjoy turning on ESPN News at the end of the days to see what's up. I will say I'm not wrapped up in sports like many I know. I don't see the point in getting all worked up about something so completely out of my control. Now, I love participating in sports.. I'm just not a big sports talker and never ever listen to sports radio. That shit will rot your brain.
